There was science fun for the whole family, including hands-on science experiments, StarLab, Magic of Science demonstration, Computer Coding Games, iPad Lab, demonstrations by our Science Olympiad team and the Pope Robotics Team, and much more! Special thanks go to our community volunteers from AkzoNobel, Novelis, Pope Robotics and the Pope Science National Honor Society, as well as our many parent and teacher volunteers! Mark your Calendars for FAMILY MATH NIGHT
Thursday, Feb. 6th from 6pm-7:30
Do you sometimes have difficulty recognizing the math in your child’s homework because it is taught differently now? Think about how the world has changed since you were in school. Math looks different because the world is different.
Join us to see how your child is learning "Hands-On" with a fun night of math games, brainteasers, estimation and problem solving strategies. “The math our children are learning today is the math they will need for tomorrow’s world”.
There will be many opportunities to win raffles prizes throughout the night!Read More
Thank you for your time!
We had so much fun coding in the computer lab with the students this week for the Hour of Code! Our students joined over 10 million students around the world to explore the exciting world of computer programming! Third, fourth, and fifth grade explored computer animation programming with Scratch. First and second grade learned basic programming steps and computer logic with Tynker.com. Kindergarten had fun programming on the iPads with Daisy the Dinosaur and Kodable.

What an exciting past two weeks with the Foundation membership drive! We would like to congratulate the classes listed below for winning the Big Thinkers in-school field trip, which will be Monday, December 2nd!
Over the past 2 weeks, we received 61 donations totaling $4,685. These donations, along with corporate matches, bring our 2013-14 membership total to $26,858. Over 47% of Shallowford Falls families have donated since the beginning of the school year.
The members of the Foundation, the teachers/staff and your children want to thank the families, grandparents and corporate sponsors who have donated to the Foundation this school year. The children of Shallowford Falls will have a better background in science and technology and be better prepared for middle school, high school, and life because of your generosity.
